Tobias Koch
Biography
Tobias Koch is a Visiting Professor and Ramón y Cajal Research Fellow with the Signal Theory and Communications Department of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M). He received the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering (with distinction) in 2004 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering in 2009, both from ETH Zurich, Switzerland. From June 2010 until May 2012 he was a Marie Curie Intra-European Research Fellow with the University of Cambridge, UK. He was also a research intern at Bell Labs, Murray Hill, NJ, USA in 2004, and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona, Spain, in 2007. He joined the Signal Processing Group of UC3M in June 2012.
Dr. Koch received a Starting Grant from the European Research Council (ERC), a Ramón y Cajal Research Fellowship, a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship, a Marie Curie Career Integration Grant, and a Fellowship for Prospective Researchers from the Swiss National Science Foundation. In 2013-2016 he served as Vice Chair of the Spain Chapter of the IEEE Information Theory Society. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
