Krishna Narayanan
Biography
Krishna Narayanan is a professor in the ECE department at Texas A&M University. He teaches and conducts research in the areas of communication theory, channel coding, information theory and signal processing. Specific areas include codes on graphs, iterative decoding, joint source and channel coding, the interplay between coding and queueing and joint physical layer and network layer design. He is particularly interested in applications to wireless communications and digital magnetic recording.
Professor Narayanan is currently the area editor for the coding theory and applications area of the IEEE Transactions on Communications and he has served on the editorial board of the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications and the IEEE Communications Letters. During the academic year 2004-2005, he held visiting positions at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Institut Eurecom and the Indian Institute of Science.
